The Facebook thread at Arbroath does no allow photos to be uploaded. Given the importance of studying the viability of a new INDEPENDENT CHARITY for Arbroath to place a lifeboat back on service at or near to the current lifeboat station (following the RNLI CEO decision to take away the current lifeboat vessel), here are the credentials to prove an earlier charity was established in Dundee for the rescue of TS Queen Mary by the person making this comment…

^^ Earlier Charity Established in 2012 ^^

If a charity to renovate an old Clyde steam ship can work, then surely a NEW charity to form an independent Arbroath lifeboat service can be created and helped to work as well. Especially as the independent lifeboat charity has the prime objective of saving lives at sea…

Example of a replacement lifeboat is £75,000. Here… https://www.apolloduck.co.uk/boat/rnli-mersey-class-for-sale/718792

This is a complex matter and requires to navigate strongly held views. Especially those of urgent and past crew members who have been left in a horrible position where the senior management of an institution the crew has supported, often across several generations, has now withdrawn the lifeboat from Arbroath.

If the Arbroath RNLI crew and shoreside committee indicate that an independent lifeboat charity would receive their support, then it is important to let the crew and local community in Arbroath know that there are folk who live locally and are able to help make an independent charity work.

We would suggest a name that is easy to remember…

A.I.L.S.A.

Arbroath Independent Lifeboat Supporters’ Association

This is mentioned as fundraising is crucial for any charity to achieve its purpose.

The credentials of one of those suggesting a new, independent Arbroath Lifeboat Service can be studied via a previous maritime charity they established…

If a group of friends can establish a charity to save this old ship from the scrapyard…
